In response to Bruce Charlton’s paper arguing that psychometrics should replace education Kling writes
I think that the probability that Charlton’s Caplan-esque views become widely accepted is about one in ten thousand. I would say there is a slightly higher chance, about five in ten thousand, that someday he will be imprisoned for his views
I am not sure if Arnold meant for that paragraph to be funny, but it made me laugh out loud. Its true, of course. But, still funny.

Kling is somewhat paranoid, or melodramatic. He himself thinks he is in danger of being locked up at some point in the future for his views on climate change. He also thinks we are heading toward a one-party state and refers to its opponents (such as himself) as “the Resistance”.
There are some messed up happenings on Bruce’s side of the pond. The “Heretical Two“, after being denied asylum in the U.S, have been sentenced to some years in prison for a website hosted in an entirely different country. Ireland’s minister of justice is calling for the insertion of a blasphemy clause in a defamation bill to prohibit saying anything held blasphemous by any religion. Someone should form a religion that holds blasphemy clauses to be blasphemous.
